Cemminerals NV has one factory on Belgian soil which is located next to deep water in the port of Gent (Kluizendok).

The factory is brandnew, built in 2018, with a state-of-the-art vertical cement mill at its centre. Our VRM has a production capacity of 1 million tonnes a year which makes it the largest of its kind in Europe.

In order to feed this mill, we have a raw materials storage capacity of 200,000 tonnes as well as 14 silos with a capacity of 2,500 tonnes each for the finished product.

Below the silos are 7 separate loading bays where lorries can be loaded in accordance with current safety and quality standards. The entire process of collecting/delivering is fully automated yet monitored/supervised by staff if an intervention is necessary. This guarantees an excellent service around the clock!

The factory is located perfectly next to 12,5m-deep water providing us excellent access to the water network and allowing seagoing vessels (Panamax class) to dock at the quay. This allows us to export cement and bring in raw materials from around the globe. Of course it also allows inland vessels to be loaded and unloaded which is a logistic option we follow up on closely in view of the Belgian highways clogging up.
